Bachelor
degree project:
Dual SHARC based multiprocessor DSP platform
This
project involved the design of a low cost, standalone, scalable Multi
Processor DSP platform using two Analog Device's high performance
32-bit Floating Point SHARC DSPs. To allow a scalable
architecture and augment the number of processors, a SHARCPAC module
interface was provided.
The
majority of the project time was dedicated to
1)
Circuit design involving signal integrity and timing analysis,
2)
PCB layout (5 layers with 3 routing layers and two power planes)
3)
Mounting the compnents and testing
4)
Writing boot code to boot the processors
5)
Writing simple appliactions to run in parallel at the 2 processors.

board.

Master's thesis Project:
Radio Over Mulitmode Fiber using VCSELs - Table of contents
The aim of this research project is to address the
transmission of RF signals like UWB or Wireless LAN signals over
cheaper Multimode fiber (MMF) links which are evolving along with the
Gigabit / 10G Ethernet standards. These MMF links are based on 850nm
VCSEL laser diodes and Laser optimized Graded Index fibers and is meant
for short distances up to 300 to 550 meters for 10Gbps data rate.
Other
projects:
1) Involved in the design of a low cost 30 GHz millimeter wave source.
It was designed in two parts. - A 15 GHz GAASFET oscillator based on a
Surface integrated waveguide resonator and 2) a 15/30 GHz GAASFET
frequency doubler. The entire design was to be realized in a PCB
process.
2) Involved in the design of a Static memory controller core for AMBA
AHB bus environment, which would support memories like SRAM, Flash
EPROM, ROM, Burst ROM. This project was done in Wipro
Technologies.
3) Involved in the design of a video conferencing board based on
Analog Device's Blackfin DSP. This project was done in Wipro
Technologies.
4) Designed an ADSP -2105 DSP based demo board for design project
course during the 6th semester (1999) of Bachelor degree.
5) Designed a EXAR-8038 based 20 kHz low cost function generator for
our department lab during the 5th Semester(1999) of Bachelor degree.
6) Designed a 8031 micro controller based driver card for a Epson hand
held printer for Signals and Systems, Chennai during 1998 summer
holidays.
7) Designed a 2.4GHz 5th order Chebyshev Band Pass Filter board
based on coupled Microstrip lines for RF Circuit design I course
project in 2003 (report).
8) Designed a 2.4GHz Low Noise Amplifier board based on Fujitsu FHX35LG
HEMT transistor for RF Circuit design I course project in 2003 (report).
9) Designed a Double balanced Diode mixer based on Agilent's quad diode
ring 5082-2830. This involved the design of a 180 degree
Balun(Rat Race Balun) for frequencies 2.1 GHz and 1.8 GHz. Also
it involved the design of a 600 MHz 3rd order Chebyshev Low Pass Filter
based on Microstrip lines. (report).
